How to Copy the Right Job URL for ScoreMyATS
For ScoreMyATS to analyze a job properly, you need to paste the link to the full job posting, not the search results page or a preview panel.
If the tool cannot read the job description, the problem is often the URL itself.
What kind of URL works best?
The best URL is the one that opens the full job description on its own page. In most cases, that page should show:
- The full job title
- The full job description
- The requirements or qualifications
- An apply button or application flow
A search page that lists many jobs usually will not work as well.
Open the full job page after clicking the job title, then copy that page URL.
Use: the dedicated job page URL.
Avoid: the search results page or the preview pane link.
Indeed
Open the full listing in its own tab, then copy the page URL from there.
Use: the full viewjob page.
Avoid: the main search results page.
Glassdoor
Copy the URL only after opening the specific job posting page.
Use: the direct job listing URL.
Avoid: category pages or job-search result pages.
Monster and ZipRecruiter
The same rule applies: open the full job listing first, then copy that page URL.
Company career pages
If the employer has a direct careers portal, make sure you copy the link to the exact job posting, not the general careers home page.
What if the URL still does not work?
Some job platforms limit external access to their pages. Workday and Oracle Cloud links are the most common examples.
If that happens:
- Copy the job title and company name from the original post.
- Search for the same job on LinkedIn, Indeed, or another supported board.
- Use that alternate full job URL instead.
This usually works because the same job details are available on a page that is easier to parse.
Quick checklist
- Does the link open one specific job?
- Can you see the full description?
- Are the requirements visible?
- Is there an apply button or application page?
If yes, you likely have the right URL.
