For ScoreMyATS to work its magic, it needs to access the full job description page. Here’s how to make sure you’re copying the right URL from popular job boards:

LinkedIn

✅ DO: Copy the URL from the full job description page that opens when you click on a job title.
Example correct URL: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3544321765
❌ DON’T: Use the URL from search results or the job preview panel.

Indeed

✅ DO: Right Click on the job title from the search results listing to open the complete job page in a new tab, then copy that URL.
Example correct URL: https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=a1b2c3d4e5f6
❌ DON’T: Copy the URL while still on the search results page or when the job is showing in the preview pane.

Glassdoor

✅ DO: Right Click on the job title from the search results listing to open the complete job page in a new tab, then copy that URL.
Example correct URL: https://www.glassdoor.com/job-listing/...
❌ DON’T: Use the URL from the search results page.

Monster

✅ DO: Right Click on the job title from the search results listing to open the complete job page in a new tab, then copy that URL.
Example correct URL: https://www.monster.com/job-openings/...
❌ DON’T: Copy the URL from the search results.

ZipRecruiter

✅ DO: Open the complete job listing, then copy the URL.
Example correct URL: https://www.ziprecruiter.ie/jobs/...
❌ DON’T: Copy URLs from email alerts or search results pages.

Company Career Pages

✅ DO: Navigate to the specific job posting on the company website and copy that URL.
Example correct URL: https://careers.companyname.com/jobs/12345-job-title
❌ DON’T: Copy the URL of the general careers page listing multiple jobs.

❌ Known issue

Our parser has limited compatibility with certain Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), specifically Workday and Oracle Cloud job posting URLs. These platforms restrict external access to their job pages, which causes parsing to fail.

How to fix it

If you get a parsing error on a Workday or Oracle Cloud link, use this simple workaround:

  1. Copy the job title and company name from the original posting.
  2. Search for the same role on Google and find it on a supported job board such as LinkedIn, Indeed, or Glassdoor, etc.
  3. Use that alternative URL instead — it will parse successfully.

Why this works

Job boards like LinkedIn and Indeed re-host the same job content in a format our parser can read. The role and its details will be identical — only the source URL changes.

If you’re unsure whether you have the right URL, ask yourself:

  • Can I see the complete job description on this page?
  • Does the page not list multiple jobs?
  • Are the job requirements fully visible?
  • Is there an apply button or application form on this page?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, you likely have the correct URL!
